I have always loved to be creative, to be busy… and craft something
unique.
Over the last couple of years Liewe Hekel has grown into something
a little bit more … exciting. Considering how much yarn I have in my
house, my family has a total different opinion. My son has changed the
“Liewe Hekel” room on the underfloor heating app to Wolkamer
(Yarnroom). I think they mean it’s full of yarn?

I create art with every loop, twist and stitch. A yarnologist of some sort.
When I receive a request for a blanket, scarf or any item, the yarn is
transformed into a dream or memory for that person and myself.
Being part of the feeling that Liewe Hekel evokes when the parcel is
delivered has been very special. That first touch and feel it is all very
real.

A simple ball of yarn turned into something new, beautiful and functional.
Something created with love, to share, to appreciate and care for.
Some projects will take 5 weeks to complete and a little pair of shoes, 1
day but however long it is, it is only me putting it all together. Having a
full time job it means long nights and an extra take away, but it all gets
done.

The end result is that Liewe Hekel products are unique.
The cost of yarn, time, effort and ideas stitched together to transform
yarn into stories, textures and heirlooms to create a memory, that is the
